Character studies. Ordinary juxtaposed with excess. Multi-layering with impasto painting techniques are key elements to understanding this artists depth. Textural collage elements are woven into the painting process to expose nuances in character that convey a deeper narrative.
Distortion and deconstruction of traditional painting styles get repurposed as abstract stylings in portrayals that blur lines of reality. This body of work purposefully and counterintuitively takes you on a journey exploring our collective misgivings throughout which color theory and textures are used prominently to emote a visceral energy
Switching up usual appearances of urban portraiture in captivating ways, my work creates an invitation to embrace and highlight imperfections. Grasping the beauty of diversity, taking notice of the subtle as well as the explosive nuances of our society and reflecting upon them.
